The Suhner Company was founded in 1939 by Paul Suhner. In its humble beginnings, the company was innovative and prospered accordingly, by providing natural casings and ingredients to the butchery trade in Switzerland.
In 1952, Walter Suhner followed in his father’s footsteps by overtaking the company. Walter Suhner Junior, who is the owner today, has proudly carried the Company into its third generation.
In 1967, Suhner Inc. developed and built the first pickling injector in Europe. With great flare and innovation, Suhner Inc. continued at the forefront of being instrumental in the development of new pickling techniques, modern pickling injectors, massage-machines, vacuum-massage machines, vacuum-tumblers and ham presses, which proudly carry the name SUHNER to this day.
Suhner Injectors can be provided with needles ranging from 10 – 320 depending upon production requirements. With its quick-change head, it is possible to produce a large variety of products, yet at the same time maintaining a very low cost. The Tender-Vac, exclusive to Suhner is built from 50 to 12’000 litres for any sized production plant. No supporting rollers in the front of the machines, integrated vacuum system and a fully electronic control system are its major features. Originally, our machines were used predominately in the production of ham, whereas to date, the Suhner machines are household names worldwide and are marketed in the poultry, fish, seafood and the catering industries.
