Tools For Your Trade is a practical incentive that gives first-year Australian Apprentices a head start by helping them to buy essential work items.
How does the Initiative work?
Employers of Australian Apprentices who have undertaken an 'eligible trade' are automatically sent a form once their apprentice has completed the first three months of their apprenticeship.
Eligibility: Do I qualify?
To receive a tool kit under this Initiative, Australian Apprentices must be in the first year of their Australian Apprenticeship and:
- undertaking a Certificate III or IV qualification leading towards an eligible trade recognised as experiencing skills shortages; or
How do I apply?
There is no application process; the Tools For Your Trade team will automatically be in touch with you - through letters to your employer - if your trade is included in this Initiative.
The process begins after you've completed three months of your Australian Apprenticeship.
The Australian Government advises the Tools For Your Trade team if you're potentially eligible, then, in order to confirm that you're still employed and enrolled in your Australian Apprenticeship, the TFYT team will send your employer an Eligibility Verification Form.
